Google was setting up a YouTube Shorts Fund as a way to pay those that created the best short-form videos per month.

Amy Singer, the Director of Global Partnership Enablement for YouTube Shorts, said in a YouTube blog post that they’re introducing the YouTube Shorts Fund — a USD 100-million fund distributed over the course of 2021-2022.

According to Singer, anyone was eligible to participate in the fund simply by creating their unique Shorts that delighted the YouTube community.

Singer also shared that they’ll reach out to thousands of creators whose Shorts received the most engagement and views every month to reward them for their contributions. Also, they will ask those content creators to share their feedback with them so that they can continue to improve the product experience.

The Shorts Fund, according to Singer, was not limited to just creators in the YouTube Partner Program. Also, content creators will be eligible to participate as long as they created original content for Shorts and adhered to YouTube Community Guidelines.

YouTube had helped an entire generation of content creators and artists turn their creativity into businesses as YouTube had paid over USD 30 billion to content creators, artists, and media companies over the last three years and YouTube remained deeply committed to supporting the next generation of mobile creators with YouTube Shorts.

Meanwhile, YouTube Shorts was already available in India and the United States and will be available in more countries soon.
