Elizabeth Zimmerman, a former wife of President Rodrigo Duterte, received her first dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Davao City, according to Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Based on a report on GMA Network’s “24 Oras” on Friday, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said that her mother was scared at first to get inoculated but she’s “okay” with it after receiving her first dose of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine.

A senior citizen, Zimmerman was included in the national government’s A2 priority group.

According to a report on MindaNews last May 17, Zimmerman received Monday her first dose of Sinovac Biotech’s CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccine at the Matina Aplaya Elementary School in Barangay Matina Aplaya.

Mayor Duterte said that her septuagenarian mother was originally scheduled to get vaccinated last week but it was postponed because of Tropical Storm “Crising.”

Meanwhile, Manila Bulletin reported on Thursday that Davao City Health Office acting head Dr. Ashley Lopez said that the city currently had 11 operational vaccination sites aside from private hospitals which offered immunization.

Davao City government had targeted to open at least 9 more vaccination sites and had targeted to vaccinate 500 to 700 more individuals per day with the additional vaccination sites.
