The 80-year-old official shared the news during the “Laging Handa” public briefing.

“I’m already vaccinated. At wala naman, absolutely, no side [effects] in my case,” she said.

The Education secretary agreed with Dr. Isagani Padolina of the Pascual Pharma Corp., that what is available is the best vaccine brand.

“We (Filipinos) are very brand conscious… Gusto natin ganitong brand, etcetera. But we are assured na tama ‘yong sinasabi ni Dr. Padolina na what is available, that is the brand that is recommended,” she said.

It was in April 2020 when Briones tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019.

She’s the second cabinet member of President Rodrigo Duterte to contract the dreaded disease.

Meanwhile, teachers and other school personnel may start receiving COVID-19 vaccines by June according to DepEd.

As of Sunday, May 9, more than 2.4 million doses of the available COVID-19 vaccines in the country have been administered.

In order to achieve herd immunity against the coronavirus, up to 70 million are targeted for vaccination.
