The Kapuso actress stars in the GMA-7 cultural drama series, Legal Wives.

In the said series, she portrays the role of Zaina Macadato, the loving mother of Ismael Macadato, played by Dennis Trillo.

But many were shocked following her abrupt announcement. There were some hoping that she will not totally close her doors on teleserye acting.

“There comes a time in your life when you have to make a very important decision albeit difficult and even painful. Finding a balance is crucial especially when held back by circumstances that don’t foster mental, emotional and spiritual growth,” Cherie Gil said.

“I found myself in such a situation. And believe me, it wasn’t impulsive as I tend to be in the past. It took a long excruciating process to look at the whole situation through the lenses of critical thought, analysis, neuroses, counsel, reflection, meditation and most of all prayer,” she added.

“Finally, the signs were everywhere and it couldn’t be any clearer,” Cherie Gil stressed.

It is set to premiere this year on the Kapuso network’s Telebabad lineup.
