No vowel names caught netizens’ attention
Two baby boys from Mindanao were given unique names without vowels.
It was on Nobyembre 10, 2020 when Strygwyr Drytch Bryl Bacolod from Davao City was born while Glhynnyl Hylhyr Yzzyghyl Buscato from Carmen, Cotabato was born last April 27.
According to the mother of Strygwyr, her child’s name was derived from one of the characters of the popular game DOTA or Defense of the Ancients.
“Drytch Bryl” on the other hand was added to the baby’s name.
Yuleses Referente- who posted the names of the babies on social media, said his best friend gave the name for Glhynnyl Hylhyr Yzzyghyl.
The letters in the name of Glhynnyl came from the names of the child’s parents and grandparents.
These are some of the unique names in the country.
Recently, a baby from Indonesia was named “Dinas Komunikasi Informatika Statistik”(Department of Statistical Communication) in honor of his father’s workplace.
As per Slamet ‘Yoga’ Wahyudi, the father of the child, he’s glad that his wife Ririn Linda Tunggal Sari agreed with the decision to name their child that way.
“At first it sounded strange, but thank God my wife did not mind,” he said.
But he admitted that he received concerns from his friends and family after naming their baby as such that’s why decided to give him a more easily pronounceable portmanteau ‘Dinko’.
