Yam Concepcion: “So itong project na ito para din sa kanya.”
INIT SA MAGDAMAG – Kapamilya actress Yam Concepcion dedicated her newest teleserye to late OPM icon Claire Dela Fuente.
According to her, the Sayang hitmaker was the one who discovered her and encouraged her to join the entertainment industry.
She also shared that she was shocked by the sudden death of the singer last month.
“So itong project na ito para din sa kanya. Gusto ko lang siya i-recognize dahil kung hindi dahil sa kanya wala ako dito ngayon. So, this is for tita Claire. May her soul rest in peace,” she said.
In the said interview, she shared how she came across Claire Dela Fuente.
According to Yam, she was never a singer. She started as a drummer of a local band.
She later starred in the music video of Mayonnaise’s single “Sinungaling.”
Monty Macalino of Mayonnaise was then contacted by Claire Dela Fuente, who was able to watch the music video.
The OPM singer later introduced her to Viva Entertainment.
Meanwhile, Yam Concepcion is currently gearing up on her latest project, Init sa Magdamag, which also stars with Gerald Anderson.
