A woman caught taking two trays of eggs in the so-called community pantry “looting” in Barangay Kapitolyo, Pasig City has issued a statement.
Earlier, netizens express their condemnation to a group of women caught taking all the display from a community pantry set up for the poor.
The concept of a “community pantry” became popular on social media and spread throughout the country.
The program which started in Quezon City’s Maginhawa Street was repeated in several areas to assist those in need especially the people affected by the current pandemic.
Meanwhile, a closed-circuit television (CCTV) video showing a group of women ransacked a community pantry has gone viral.
With their eco-bags, the group of women was able to take two trays of eggs, loaves of bread, and other goods from the area.
One of them is a certain Maricar Adriano who can be seen taking 2 trays of eggs.
But to air her side on the alleged looting, she earlier issued a statement.
