#BisingPH — The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ordered all public telecommunications companies (telcos) to provide sufficient service during Typhoon Bising.
In a report on Inquirer, the National Telecommunications Commission issued a memorandum ordering all public telcos to be prepared for the incoming Typhoon Bising.
Following NTC’s Memorandum Order No. 05-04-2011 dated April 16, the National Telecommunications Commission ordered all telcos to ensure that there were sufficient personnels, standby generators, with extra fuel and tools, and spare equipment in areas that might be affected by Typhoon Bising.

The National Telecommunications Commission also required all repair and service restoration be fast-tracked in areas that might be severely affected by Typhoon Bising, noting that telcos must be updated on ongoing restoration activities and the timeline for the full restoration of services every 6 hours.
In addition, the National Telecommunications Commission said that the deployment of “Libreng Tawag and Libreng Charging Stations” (free calls and free charging stations) will be set up in areas that will be affected by Typhoon Bising.
Moreover, the National Telecommunications Commission reminded telcos to coordinate with the Local Government Units (LGUs) and to observe strict health protocols in order to avoid coronavirus transmission.
Tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) No. 1 was raised over 14 areas in the country on Saturday morning as Typhoon Bising continued to rapidly intensify while moving west-northwestward over the Philippine Sea.
