Lucio Tan: Update on Business Tycoon’s Condition After Testing Positive for COVID-19

Here’s an update about the health condition of Lucio Tan after testing positive for COVID-19.

Tan is a well-known billionaire who is the founder of the largest conglomerates in the country in consumer products, education, and airlines.

Tan and his family moved to the Philippines from Fujian, China at a very young age and eventually formed the Lucio Tan Group of Companies.

Lucio Tan, who has a net worth of $3.2 billion, is the owner of PAL, Philippine National Bank, Fortune Tobacco, Tanduay Distillers, Asia Brewery Inc. and Eton Properties Philippines.

Aside from that, he also owns the University of the East, one of the largest academic institutions in the country.

Meanwhile, his daughter Vivienne took to the image-sharing site, Instagram wherein she gave an update about the health condition of the business tycoon.

“He is in stable condition, responding well and recovering,” she said.

On the other hand, Philippine Airlines (PAL) said in a statement its board, management, and staff “join the Tan family in prayers and well wishes for the speedy recovery of Dr. Tan.”

Amid the pandemic due to COVID-19, the Lucio Tan group donated a biomolecular laboratory to the Philippine Red Cross that can handle 4,000 tests per day. It is located in Batangas City.
