Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla on Wednesday said that the provincial government of Cavite ordered 3 million Novavax COVID-19 vaccine doses.
Remulla said in a Facebook post that the provincial government of Cavite had ordered three million Novavax COVID-19 vaccine doses in order to vaccinate 1.5 million people in the province for free.
He added that the Novavax vaccines will be allocated for residents aged 18 to 59 years old, adding that the vaccines were expected to be delivered as early as July and not later than December this year.
Remulla also said that the local government units (LGUs) in Cavite raised PHP 1.8 billion for the province’s vaccine procurement initiative. The said amount, according to Remulla, already covered expenses for logistics, delivery, storage, and registration.

Meanwhile, Remulla urged his constituents to trust the national government’s vaccination program as he countered theories about the COVID-19 vaccines.
Remulla noted that vaccines were necessary to curb the pandemic and that vaccines have long been proven to be effective against pandemics in the past.
“During these critical times, the more we need to rely on the medical and scientific process. Getting yourself vaccinated will not bring about the end of the world. Rather, it may finally bring about the end of COVID-19. So let us all choose to be free from this dreaded virus so that all of us can hold hands once again,” Remulla said.
