Security Guard Becomes Tech Officer After Learning How to Code
A security guard has been promoted as a tech officer of a certain company after learning how to code to improve his career.
A guy identified as Abdul Alim left his home in 2013 to look for a job in Chennai, India with just $13 in his pocket. He used the money on train ticket and lived across the streets for having no money.
The man roam around the streets for two months until he was hired to become a security guard at an Indian multinational company named Zoho Corporation. The firm specialized in cloud computing, software development, and web-based business tools.
Shibu Alexis, a senior employee at Zoho asked Alim for his name and his educational attainment. Alexis saw potential in Alim and decided to give him free lessons after completing his 12-hour shift as security guard.
Alim learned a lot about coding with the help of Alexis within eight months. He developed an intuitive app that uses a user’s input and visualizes it, which impressed his manager.
The manager interviewed Alexis and promoted him as the company’s tech officer although he didn’t even finish college. The former guard thanked the company and Alexis for giving him a good opportunity.
