The mayor of Marawi City is positive of Coronavirus
Majul Gandamra, the mayor of Marawi City tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.
It was on Sunday night when Gandamra announced that he contracted the killer virus despite observing health protocols. He received his RT-PCR test result at the time.
“It is with deepest concern that I wish to inform you all that despite careful and religious observance of the minimum health protocols, I have been tested positive for COVID-19,” he said.
The Marawi City mayor also called on those who had close contact with him to undergo testing or home/facility quarantine.
He also urged his constituents to get vaccinated.
Meanwhile, with the rapid increase of coronavirus disease 2019 cases, leaders of different nations are doing their all in order to combat the spread of the deadly virus which started in Wuhan, China in 2019.
COVID-19 is characterized by flu-like symptoms such as fever, difficulty in breathing, cough, and other respiratory problems but a patient may also be positive for the disease even without showing any signs.
Among the safety protocols that everyone must observe are the following; social/physical distancing, wearing masks especially in public places, and using disinfectant from time to time if possible.
