Manny Pangilinan Says ECQ Advisory Warning Is Fake News

ECQ ADVISORY FAKE NEWS – Manuel “Manny” Pangilinan emphasized that he did not warn employees about a re-implementation of an enhanced community quarantine in Manila.

According to reports, employees were receiving messages that stated areas under the new NCR plus bubble will have an ECQ implementation. Furthermore, he stressed that he “did not issue any advisory at all to Meralco employees” and to the general public.

As such, he took to Twitter to clarify that he would never issue such an advisory. “I would never do that”, he noted. On his Twitter account, he said:

Fake news. No I did NOT issue any advisory at all to Meralco employees, or to the public, about any ECQ or any other. Governmental order regarding this pandemic. I would never do that nonsense.

Meanwhile, he added that Meralco was more than ready to serve the public under any situation. Based on an article from ABS-CBN, the rumors began circulating saturday after viral messages supposedly quoted company memos regarding another lockdown.
