After he personally attended the opening of the Philippines’ 101st Malasakit Center in Gov. Roque Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Senator Go said during an ambush interview last Thursday that he had discussed public vaccination with the President who was open to the idea if his physician permitted it.

According to Senator Go, the President may get the COVID-19 vaccine upon the approval of his physician.

As public servants, the senator explained that he and the President were willing to serve as an example and to get the confidence of the Filipinos on COVID-19 vaccines.

Alam n’yo, not because kaming mga opisyales ay prayoridad sa bakuna. Hindi po dapat ‘yan. Pero bilang isang ehemplo, to get the confidence of the Filipino people, ang mga opisyales, si Pangulong Duterte, si Sec. (Carlito) Galvez, Sec. (Francisco) Duque ay dapat po manguna sa pagpapabakuna,” Senator Go said.

Senator Go also assured that the Philippine government was in the final stages of procuring the COVID-19 vaccines and was ensuring that Filipinos would get safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines.

Earlier, Senator Go said that the 117,000 Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine doses were expected to be delivered in more or less three weeks from now based on his discussion with vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.

According to Senator Go, the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines to be donated by the Chinese government were expected to arrive in the Philippines soon and President Duterte planned to set aside a portion of the said vaccine in order to vaccinate uniformed personnel.
