PRC: 101 Licensure Examinations Slated In 2021

101 licensure examinations slated in 2021, according to PRC.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Thursday said that a total of 101 licensure examinations will be conducted this year.

This, after stringent lockdowns aimed at curbing the spread of coronavirus disease forced the cancellations of many examinations in 2020.

At the Laging Handa briefing, PRC Chairperson Teofilo Pilando Jr. said that the Professional Regulation Commission held only 11 examinations last year as compared to 83 examinations in 2019.

Kaya ngayon, to make up, we have scheduled 101 licensure examinations for 2021. Unfortunately, may mga iba pa ring mga professional boards na nagri-recommend ng cancelation dahil for various reasons upon consultation from their respective examinees, sa academe as well as the professional organizations,” Pilando said.

The Philippine government’s COVID-19 response task force earlier allowed the conduct of licensure examinations scheduled for January to March 2021.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission, the professional examinations set to take place from January to March — including examinations for architects, veterinarians, medical technologists, teachers, social workers, physicians, and geologists, among others.

Pilando added that health protocols must be strictly observed during the examinations.

The Professional Regulation Commission had also coordinated with the Department of Health (DOH) and local government units with regard to the conduct of the examinations.

Pilando also said that the Professional Regulation Commission was eyeing to introduce computer-based licensure examinations later this year.
