More SM malls in the Philippines will also offer Philippine Red Cross’s drive-thru saliva swab testing services.
SM SALIVA SWAB TESTING — The Philippine Red Cross’ saliva reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing services would soon be available in SM Fairview and SM Southmall, as well as in SM Bacolod, SM Cebu, and SM Iloilo.
In a radio interview, PRC Governor Carissa Coscolluela mentioned that the SM Supermalls had been “very cooperative” with them, citing that saliva swab testing services would also be rolled out in other SM branches nationwide as well.
Coscolluela noted that SM North EDSA, SM Aura, and SM San Lazaro had also been identified as possible areas for the roll-out.
Bien Mateo, the senior vice president for operations of SM Supermalls, said that they’re committed to supporting the Philippine Red Cross in expanding its saliva swab testing services.
According to Mateo, they will continue the said program in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross.
“Itutuloy po natin ang ganitong program in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross. if we can expand in other areas na kailangan nyo po, [we pledge] our commitment to support this,” Mateo said.

Last February 2, the Philippine Red Cross formally partnered with SM Supermalls for the drive-thru saliva RT-PCR collection sites in an effort to make such testing services more accessible to the public.
The Philippine Red Cross’ saliva collection units can be found at SM Megamall and at SM Mall of Asia.
As of February 7, the Philippine Red Cross had logged around 17,955 online bookings for the saliva swab test.
