LSI Passenger From Manila Suffered Stroke, Dies Upon Arrival in Bacolod

A locally stranded individual (LSI) passenger of the Cebu Pacific flight from Manila bound to Bacolod City suffered from a stroke and died upon arrival in the city last Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

The victim is a 71-year-old LSI from Barangay Handumanan, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

According to the report of DYHB Tatak RMN, the victim was onboard the plane when the victim suffered a stroke and upon arrival at New Bacolod-Silay Airport, the victim was taken to Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City.

It was stated that when the victim was about to be brought to a private hospital in Bacolod, the victim passed away.

Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said that although the victim did not have COVID-19 symptoms, he now plans to have the body subjected to a swab test to ascertain the cause of the victim’s death.

At present, coordination is being conducted with the victim’s family to find out if the victim has a background or medical/health history.
