Joe Biden took over as the President of the United States of America last month.

With this, Huawei expected Biden to improve relations between China and the United States, as well as Chinese and American firms.

According to Huawei CEO and founder Ren Zhengfei, Huawei remained determined to buy equipment from American firms and that restoring Huawei’s access to American goods was mutually beneficial.

In addition, Ren suggested that the restrictions on Huawei would hurt US suppliers.

Ren also said that it would be “extremely difficult” for the United States to reverse its sanctions against Huawei, but he hoped that the new Biden administration would bring a more “open policy.”

We hope the new US administration would have an open policy for the benefit of American firms and the economic development of the United States. We still hope that we can buy large volumes of American materials, components, and equipment so that we can all benefit from China’s growth,” said Ren.

Meanwhile, Ren denied information that Huawei Technologies was going out of the smartphone business.

Gizchina reported that Huawei would unveil its flagship Huawei Mate X2 foldable smartphone on February 22, 2021, and the Huawei P50 was expected to be announced in March 2021.
