Huawei applied for the registration of two driving trademarks.
Recent reports show that Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. applied for the registration of these driving trademarks on January 28, 2021.
The registration showed that MATEDRIVE & MATEAUTO trademarks were “scientific instruments and transportation tools”.
Also, parts of the registration description read “driving, transmission (or drive) device”, which means that these driving trademarks were related to cars.
The application number was 53374978, and the current trademark status was “pending registration”.

Over the past two years, there had been several reports linking the company to car driving.
On January 19, Huawei Technologies published a patent that was related to autonomous driving, which specifically related to a method for reasoning on roads that can be driven.
In August 2020, Huawei Technologies successfully held the Huawei Autonomous Driving Network Technology Summit in Suzhou and talked about the development prospects and standards of the autonomous driving network industry with professors from Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Soochow University, and Northeastern University.
The discussion also covered the process of defining cutting-edge technologies.
Furthermore, Huawei announced the establishment of a Huawei Digital Communication Autonomous Driving Network Joint Laboratory. However, this was the first time that Huawei has links to driving trademark.
