Huawei recently released a statement in response to rumors about the company’s plans to sell its flagship P series and Mate series smartphone line.
Huawei officials recently issued a statement to the Chinese media saying that the company had no plans of selling its mobile phone business and would continue building its high-end smartphones.
The statement from the company shed some positive light on the future of Huawei’s two flagship smartphone series – the P series and Mate series smartphone line.
However, the fact that Huawei has no chipsets for its flagship smartphones was still there, HiSilicon was still banned from using Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) fabs while MediaTek and Qualcomm are prohibited to do any business with Huawei.
The said news came after a report on Reuters stated that Huawei was planning to sell their flagship line after selling the HONOR brand.

To recap, the Trump administration prevented the Chinese tech giant from doing business with the companies in the United States.
US companies need to acquire a license in order to trade with Huawei, but a report came out that these licenses would be revoked as well.

Meanwhile, Huawei Philippines told team GIZGUIDE that the company had learned that there were unsubstantiated rumors about the possible sale of their flagship smartphone brands.
“There is no merit to these rumors whatsoever. Huawei has no such plan. We remain fully committed to our smartphone business and will continue to deliver world-leading products and experiences for consumers around the world,” Huawei Philippines said.
