Earlier, Panelo took the health precaution after he’s exposed to Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino who caught the coronavirus disease.

In his “Counterpoint” program on Monday, Panelo bared that he took two COVID-19 tests and was back recording his commentary program at his office after working at his home last week.

According to Panelo, he had a swab test the other day because he’s exposed to Sec. Dino, adding that the test result came out “negative” when he got tested for COVID-19.

And since he would attend the Cabinet meeting convened by President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, Panelo said that he had to take another COVID-19 test on Sunday. According to Panelo, he took a swab test at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) Sunday and tested “negative” again.

Kaka-swab test lang natin noong isang araw, nag-swab test because of, na-expose tayo kay Secretary Mike Dino.. noong nagpa-test tayo, negative. Nag-pa swab test uli sa NKTI kahapon, negative uli,” Panelo said.

The diagnostic test, according to a report on Manila Bulletin, was part of the health protocols enforced by the Presidential Security Group (PSG) for people attending the meetings with President Rodrigo Duterte.

Panelo and Dino were among the Philippine government officials who attended the launch of new Malasakit Center in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte last February 11.

A few days later, Sec. Dino announced that he had tested positive for the coronavirus disease after he came in contact with a person with the illness.

Panelo had also offered prayers for the swift recovery of Sec. Dino as he battled the coronavirus disease.
