The transmission of the virus is quite faster although the virility of virus is lower before due to the new COVID-19 variant among the identified cases in Cebu.

Now the data last year, there was a positivity rate of 10 to 12 percent. This February, I say it again, we have very limited samples, but it is consistent. It has reached 20 percent. It seems that the transmissibility has doubled,” Feliciano said in Cebuano.

The Inter-Agency Task Force would continue to monitor COVID-19 cases over the next few weeks before deciding the fate of the town. Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella and Feliciano reportedly had talked regarding the possible quarantine status of the city.
