Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri and Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian mourn the death of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman Danilo Lim.
Lim, a retired military general, died on Wednesday morning at the age of 65 due to cardiac arrest.
“It’s sad to hear that one of our hard-working, no-frills public servant had passed away from Cardiac arrest due to Covid complications,” Zubiri said.
“He served his country well both in protecting our people from external and internal threats as well as a low-key hardworking bureaucrat in Government serving the needs of the people of Metro Manila,” he added.
According to Gatchalian, Danilo Lim is a good person, and that he supports all the programs of the mayors of Metro Manila.
“Chairman General Danny Lim was very kind, supportive and a very hands on leader for the NCR mayors,” the mayor said.
“He was always ready to guide the mayors and at the same time by our backs for support when we need it the most,” he added.
Danilo Lim, a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1978 was appointed MMDA chairman in 2017.
On December 29, Danilo Lim confirmed that he had tested positive for coronavirus disease.
