Former action star Rex Lapid passed away on Friday, January 15 at the age of 73.
Rex Lapid whose real name is Roberto Cabrera died of sepsis, a potentially life-threatening condition caused by the body’s response to an infection.
He survived by his wife Bebeth and their two children.
He also has three children with former US-based actress Helen Imperial.
Rex Lapid, who was born on December 28, 1947, was a former member of the stuntmen group SOS Daredevils before he was given a major break in the film.
Among the popular films, he became part of are the following; Shotgun Kid (1970), Panlaban: Dos Por Dos (1981), and Dugong Mandirigma (1981).
According to his wife Bebeth, their family is a member of Iglesia ni Cristo and her husband became active in the church when he stopped acting.
Rex Lapid is the cousin of his fellow action star Senator Lito Lapid.
Meanwhile, his remains are now at the Loyola Memorial Chapels in Sucat, Parañaque City, and his funeral is set on January 19 at the Manila Memorial Park, Parañaque City.
