Divine Lee: “It was a blunder and they apologized, and I hope they’re not… hindi sila ma-cancel culture, kasi yun nga ang uso ngayon.”
Television host-influencer Divine Lee reacted to the controversial birthday parties of Tim Yap and Raymond Gutierrez.
Both have been criticized due to their respective birthday celebrations amid the pandemic.
Tim celebrated his birthday on January 17 at The Manor, Baguio City while Raymond held his special day at a restaurant in Bonifacio Global City on January 21.
Photos and videos from Tim and Raymond’s birthday celebration went viral.
Failure to wear a face mask and non-compliance with the physical distancing of other guests, both strictly enforced by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), has been noticed and condemned by the public.
As a result, the establishment where Raymond’s party was held was temporarily closed, while the hotel where Tim’s birthday dinner was held is being investigated.
Meanwhile, Divine Lee has reacted to the controversial birthday celebrations of Raymond and Tim.
According to her, she was actually invited to Tim’s party but she did not go since she has small kids at the same time she’s afraid of contracting the COVID-19 anew.
“And I feel, like, may lapse of judgment ako, and that probably also happened to them,” she said while referring to Tim and Raymond.
It was in July 2020 when Divine and her husband Blake Go contracted COVID-19.
