PhilHealth Trending On Twitter After Announcing Increase In Contribution
PHILHEALTH – Amid unanswered controversy and a slew of other issues, PhilHealth becomes trending on Twitter after announcing an increase in its contributions.
The state-run health insurer was the subject of major controversy during the earlier months of 2020. However, a slew of other controversies such as the dolomite beach seemingly got PhilHealth out of the spotlight.
Among the issues PhilHealth had yet to account for was the alleged P15 billion lost amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, several of PhilHealth’s top officials resigned as investigations into its alleged corruption began.
But despite the controversy, the pandemic, and the numerous calls for Duque to resign, PhilHealth still announced its latest contribution adjustments.
As such, the health insurer went trending on social media such as Twitter and Facebook. Netizens immediately called out PhilHealth for having the audacity to increase contributions despite the heaping pile of documented issues.
Meawhile, PhilHealth said that it recognized the hardships and the tolls brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they said that they needed to implement the UHC (Universal Health Care) law.
