Pantone officially revealed the Colors of the Year for the year 2021
Pantone had recently unveiled not just one color, but a combination of two colors as the official Colors of the Year for the year 2021.
This, as the color company officially announced that Illuminating and Ultimate Gray were the official Colors of the Year 2021.
In its website, the color company stated that the marriage of color between Illuminating and Ultimate Gray conveyed a message of “strength and hopefulness” that’s both “enduring and uplifting”.
With its message of happiness, Pantone wished that the combination of two colors would be aspirational while providing hope.
“We need to feel that everything is going to get brighter – this is essential to the human spirit,” Pantone said.

Pantone also stated in its website that the union of Ultimate Gray and Illuminating was one of strength and positivity as it’s a story of color that encapsulated “deeper feelings of thoughtfulness with the promise of something sunny and friendly”.
The Pantone Institute had selected its Color of the Year (COTY) for over 20 years now and the color company’s intention was to influence purchasing decisions and product development.
From interior design to fashion to graphic and visual arts, Pantone convened in a European city to deliberate and name the palette of choice for next year.
