Wuhan, China – Back to normal now
Life is back to normal in Wuhan City, China, the place where COVID-19 started and spread a year ago.
“We’re normal here na in Wuhan,” said Chay Roxas, an overseas Filipino worker in Wuhan.
According to Roxas, Wuhan has also relaxed the health protocols implemented such as wearing masks and physical distancing.
“Di na siya tulad ng dati. May makikita ka nang mga taong hindi na naka-mask. Konti na lang ‘yung gumagamit ng QR Code. Hindi na ganun kahigpit and also wearing a mask is a safety precaution na lang hindi na siya ganun kahigpit,” she said.
She explained that it only serves as self-protection and awareness that there is still a virus.
The market where the first cases of the virus came out remains closed, according to her.
“May barricade pa rin ‘yung market,” she said.
Even the makeshift hospital in Wuhan has been closed.
Roxas added that face-to-face classes started there in September but China’s borders remain closed to foreigners.
It was in November 2019 when coronavirus disease started in Wuhan, China.
As of posting, China has recorded 86,661 cases, with 4,634 deaths, 81,743 recoveries and only 284 active cases.
