Former mayor of Pagbilao, Quezon passed away
Ex-Mayor Romeo Romar Portes of Pagbilao, Quezon passed away more than a week after he was shot on November 24.
Portes was gunned down outside his son’s house and immediately taken to a hospital in Manila.
According to his family, the remains of the former mayor are already in their home in Pagbilao.
It will be recalled that the victim’s relatives issued a P500,000 reward to anyone who can provide information to those behind the crime.
Pagbilao Mayor Sheirre Ann Portes-Palicpic, son of the late mayor, thanked all those who worried and sympathized with their family.
In a statement, she said: “Nagpapasalamat po kami sa inyong pag aalala at pagmamahal. Masakit man na ang amin pong ama ay lumisan na. It was a good fight. Pero nais po siyang makapiling ng Poong lumikha.”
She added: “Dumating na po siya sa aming tahanan. Patuloy na panalangin para po sa aming ama, para sa aming pamilya, para sa bayan ng Pagbilao, at para sa hustisya. Maraming Salamat po.
