Duterte Sees No Fault In Duque Amid Criticisms Of “Dropping The Ball”
DUTERTE SEES NO FAULT IN DUQUE – Following criticisms for allegedly failing to secure Pfizer vaccines for the Philippines, President Duterte defended Health Chief, Francisco Duque III.
According to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Duterte saw no major lapse by Duque who was accused of “dropping the ball” in the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine deal.
Previously, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teddy Locsin mentioned how somebody from the government “dropped the ball” in the Pfizer deal. However, he never mentioned any names.
Meanwhile, Senator Panfilo Lacson singled-out Duque as the reason why the Philippines failed to get early doses of the Pfizer Vaccine by January next year. Still, Despite the criticisms, Duque defended himself and said, there was no “dropping the ball”.
Instead, he claimed that Pfizer never gave a promise to the Philippines that they would allocate vaccines to the country. Furthermore, when it came to the processing of documents for the vaccine, Duque said things such as that can’t be rushed.
According to an article from ABS-CBN, Roque says that the public should just wait for Duque to answer all the claims thrown toward him.
But I think from the overall demeanor of the President, wala naman po siyang nakikitang major lapse dahil ang pinag-uusapan po ay kontrata at hindi naman po abogado po is Secretary Duque,” Roque said in a online press briefing…
At wala rin pong danyos na nangyari because patuloy pa rin po ang pagkuha natin ng Pfizer
