Duterte: “And sa PhilHealth, there will be another round of dismissal.”
President Rodrigo Duterte announced that the dismissal of Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) officials is not yet over.
In his public address on Monday, he said that the investigation on anomalies within PhilHealth is ongoing therefore firing spree continues.
“Marami na akong sinibak. And sa PhilHealth, there will be another round of dismissal. Kinukumpleto lang nila ‘yung investigation,” he said.
It can be recalled that new chief Dante Gierran has ordered the courtesy resignation of senior vice presidents of the state-run insurance firm following the mandate of the President that there should be a reshuffling.
The task force formed by Duterte is still conducting an investigation regarding the anomalies within PhilHealth.
Meanwhile, the issue about PhilHealth corruption first erupted after resigned anti-fraud legal officer Thorrsson Montes Keith revealed in a Senate hearing that a whopping P15 billion worth of funds have been pocketed by the so-called ‘mafia‘ in “syndicate-like” transactions.
Aside from the state-insurer, Duterte will also fire officials from other government agencies.
