Former PNP Chief Bato Dela Rosa Pushes For Regular Neuropsychiatric Tests For Cops
BATO PUSHES FOR NEUROPSHYCIATRIC TESTS – Former PNP chief and current Senator, Bato Dela Rosa pushed for policemen to undergo regular neuropsychiatric tests.
After the killing of the Gregorio mother and son at the hands of police officer Jonel Nuezca, Bato wanted a yearly neuropsychiatric test for cops. He noted that this test is only done during recruitment, for schooling, and promotions.
According to an article from Inquirer, Dela Rosa said:
Puwedeng pagpasok niya sa pagkapulis ay normal siya o wala siyang problema pero habang nasa serbisyo siya, habang pulis siya natuto siyang gumamit ng droga, nasira ang kanyang utak so pwedeng magbago iyong kanyang ugali
He stressed that these tests are important, especially for policemen. Furthermore, he wanted to have the tests yearly.
Police Staff Sergeant Jonel Nuezca shot dead in broad daylight his neighbors over an altercation. However, there was a video of the incident and it immediately became viral on social media.
Following the incident, Nuezca calmly returned to his house with his daughter and fled the area. Moments later, he surrendered himself to the police and is now charged with double murder.
