During the Laging Handa briefing, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said: “Today is the official effectivity of this Department Circular on (PCR test) price range.”

According to the health department, the PCR test for government facilities must only be at P3,800 while for private facilities, the regulated price ranges from P4,500 to P5,000 per test as per Department Circular.

It was last week when the government released a joint administrative order thru DOH and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to regulate the price range for PCR tests.

The circular read: “This price range is already inclusive of all costs associated with testing, including a faster turnaround time and other premium services. This information shall be available for public access in the DOH website and other social media platforms.”

Based on the department circular, the price range for the PCR test will be implemented on November 30, which also marks Bonifacio Day.

COVID-19 PCR tests previously cost as much as 10,000 pesos depending on the speed of results.
