PAGASA: “We are still expecting at least three more tropical cyclones”
Three (3) more storms are expected to hit the Philippines before the year ends according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In a statement, PAGASA weather forecaster Ariel Rojas said: “For the month of November, ang ating forecast, 1 to 3 at nakatatlo na tayo na bagyo for November and it’s only the 12th day of November so mayroon pa tayong 18 days left.”
He added: “So, at least before the year 2020 ends, we are still expecting at least three more tropical cyclones.”
Meanwhile, the recent Typhoon Ulysses left massive devastation in the country, particularly in Luzon.
Ulysses drenched and damaged the entire Luzon, killing at least 23 people with 16 missing.
Based on the latest weather update issued at 5 AM today, November 13, Ulysses weakens into a severe tropical storm as it moves further away from the country.
The center of Severe Tropical Storm Ulysses was last spotted at 415 km West of Iba, Zambales.
It is traversing Westward at 20 km/h and has maximum sustained winds of 110 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 135 km/h.
The state weather bureau noted tropical cyclone wind signals have already been lifted.
