Real, Quezon Residents Evacuate as Typhoon Rolly Approaches
MANILA, PHILIPPINES – The residents of Real, Quezon have voluntarily evacuated and leave their homes as Typhoon Rolly approaches.
Typhoon Rolly becomes one of the most trending topics on social media as it moves closer to the country. Rolly is slowly moving closer to Bicol and expected to bring an inclement weather condition over some parts of the country.
The typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 215 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 265 kph. It was expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday (November 2, 2020).
On Saturday morning (October 3, 2020), the residents of Barangay Mahaba in Real, Quezon province have already left their houses due to Typhoon Rolly. The village is one of the areas, which might struck by the weather disturbance.
The evacuees went to the mountainous areas of Sierra Madre while some residents temporarily resides with their relatives. The residents were afraid to experience the landslide they have experienced last 2004.
Small boats have been removed from the shorelines as the typhoon is expected to hit the province.
The local government of Quezon is supposed to conduct the evacuation on Saturday but the residents voluntarily leave the area before the operation.
