Lady Teacher and Fellow Educators Who Ride a “Timbulan” to Cross River Goes Viral
Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro – A lady teacher together with her fellow educators ride a “Timbulan” to cross the river just to go home after work.
A Facebook user named Daisy Mae Anthony Paala proudly shares how the father of her co-teacher helped her fellow teachers to cross the river in Mindoro. The post circulates online and earned praises from the online community.
Teacher Daisy explained that it was a normal scene for them to cross the river on daily basis but experiences hardships when the current is strong. They are crossing a river and walking up to the mountain just to reach the school located at a Mangyan Community.
Paala expressed her gratefulness towards her colleague Russel Balontong’s father Noli Balontong for helping them. Mr. Noli helped the hardworking and compassionate teacher to cross the river.
The educators have ride a “timbulan” or popularly known as “salbabida” to cross the river. The group could not also contact someone else to rescue them because they could not found a network signal in the area.

“Normal na po sa amin sa araw-araw na pasok ang tumatawid ng ilog, maglakad ng malayo at umakyat ng bundok. Pero naiiba ngayong araw at napakalaki ng ilog at napakalakas ng agos.
Salamat Sir Russel Balontong sa iyong Papa na syang naging instrumento ni Lord para ligtas tayong maitawid at makauwi. Buti nalang din mula sa itaas ay natanaw mo na sobrang lapad na ng ilog. Lagay loob tayo na mababa lang ang ilog sa pag uwi natin kasi ang hina naman ng ulan..
First time ko sumakay sa timbulan para tumawid ng ilog. 😢😱”
