The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has allowed cockfighting activities in areas under the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
However, only licensed cockpits as well as cockfighting activities are allowed to operate under strict compliance on safety and health protocols.
Live broadcasting or telecasting and in-venue audience are not permitted. On the other hand, online or remote betting are also prohibited.
The IATF noted that the discretion of whether to grant permit to cockfighting activities in the local level remains in the local government unit.
The Inter-Agency Task Force has yet to divulge further details on how cockfighting activities can be watched.
The IATF also gave a go signal to off-track horse race betting stations in places under the GCQ or general community quarantine.

It can be recalled that cockfighting and other activities were prohibited due to the high-tide of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the country.
Meanwhile, as per COVID-19 tally, the country has already recorded 348,698 cases after 2,261 were added on the latest record.
On the other hand, the total number of recoveries have clinched to 294,161 while 6,497 have already died because of the dreaded disease that started in China.
