DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 319,330

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 319,330, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 319,330 with over 2,600 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, October 3, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #203 dated October 3, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,674 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 2,237 out of 2,674 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 319,330.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Saturday reported that 10 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 58,606 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #203 dated October 3, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 3 only: Metro Manila with 1,046 new cases, Cavite with 257 new cases, Rizal with 165 new cases, Batangas with 137 new cases, and Laguna with 121 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 459 newly-reported recoveries and 62 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 255,046 and coronavirus deaths to 5,678.
