Caridad Sanchez was diagnosed with dementia in 2015, and now she continues to fight the disease.

“My mother is fading. Day by day, week by week. It is the most difficult challenge of my adult life, next to losing my son. Anticipatory grief. This is what this is all over again,” saad ni Babao, na naging grief counselor matapos masawi ang kanyang anak noong 1998 sa edad na 4.
She said she had been thinking for a long time about exposing her mother’s illness due to its popularity, but realized that having dementia should not be a stigma.
“A wise friend who had gone on a similar journey told me this: ‘I suggest you write it, still. Your Mom’s a well-respected figure. No one will mock her for her dementia, your revelations about her going through it is sure to benefit more people,’” aniya pa.
Caridad Sanchez is now 87 years old, and her daughter continues to share updates about the actress on Instagram.
