DOH Logs 1,509 Newly-Reported COVID-19 Cases In PH

DOH had recorded 1,509 newly-reported COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.

The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 1,509 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of October 21, 2020.

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #221 dated October 21, 2020, the Department of Health reported 1,509 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 1,356 out of 1,509 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 362,243.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Wednesday reported that 13 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 43,990 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #221 dated October 21, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of October 21 only: Rizal with 83 new cases, Cavite with 82 new cases, City of Manila with 66 new cases, Baguio City with 65 new cases, and Iloilo City with 57 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 911 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 311,506. Also, the Department of Health recorded 60 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 6,747.
