More than 28 million cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been recorded worldwide with over 900,000 deaths.

COVID-19 pandemic continues to devastate the entire world.

With the rapid increase of coronavirus disease 2019 cases, leaders of different nations are doing their all in order to combat the spread of the deadly virus which started in Wuhan, China in 2019.

Among the safety protocols that everyone must observe are the following; social/physical distancing, wearing masks especially in public places, and using disinfectant from time to time if possible.

COVID-19 is characterized by flu-like symptoms such as fever, difficulty in breathing, cough, and other respiratory problems but a patient may also be positive for the disease even without showing any signs.

Meanwhile, according to GMA News Online via a tally of Reuters, the United States holds the record with the highest number of cases with 6,376,478 infections and 190,891 deaths.

Followed by India with 4,465,863 cases and 84,082 deaths; Brazil with 4,197,889 cases and 128,539 deaths; Russia with 1,046,370 cases and 18,263 deaths; and Peru with 702,776 cases and 30,236 deaths.

  • Deaths: 904,482

In the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 3,821 additional cases, 563 new recoveries, and 80 new deaths as of Thursday, September 10, 2020.

Based on the record of the country’s health department, the country has now a total of 248,947 confirmed cases with 186,058 recoveries and 4,066 deaths.
