The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 248,947 with over 3,800 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, September 10, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #180 dated September 10, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,821 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 248,947.

In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Thursday were reported based on the total tests done by 105 out of 117 current operational laboratories. The Department of Health also reported that 12 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS or the COVID-19 Data Repository System.

Moreover, 3,277 out of 3,821 newly-reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days — from August 28 to September 10.

The Department of Health also reported 58,823 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #180 dated September 10, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 10 only: Metro Manila with 2,079 new cases, Rizal with 286 new cases, Cavite with 174 new cases, Laguna with 168 new cases, and Bulacan with 142 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 563 newly-reported recoveries and 80 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 186,058 and total coronavirus deaths to 4,066.
