Erik Santos Grateful to ABS-CBN Network
ERIK SANTOS – The Kapamilya singer spoke about his gratitude to ABS-CBN amid the denial of its bid for a fresh franchise.
Undeniably, a lot of people did not see the shutting down of ABS-CBN network coming. The said broadcasting company is one of the giants in the field and has served the Filipino citizenry for decades already.
The franchise of the Kapamilya network expired and the National Telecommunications Commission released a Cease and Desist Order against the network.
In line with the bid for a new franchise, 13 hearings were held in the House of Representatives to discuss the issues surrounding the network. It was attended by the Kapamilya executives.
However, a 70-11 voting result of the House Franchise Committee denied ABS-CBN of a fresh 25-year franchise. A lot of people lost their jobs as the network had to do a massive retrenchment.

Meanwhile, some programs of ABS-CBN continues through the Kapamilya Online Live and other platforms. To this, singer Erik Santos is grateful.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, during his appearance on Magandang Buhay, Erik Santos spoke about his gratitude to ABS-CBN for keeping its commitment of providing entertainment to the viewers despite its denied franchise bid.
“Amidst the closure of the network ay nabibigyan pa rin nila kami ng pagkakataon na makapag-work at makapagbigay ng aliw,” the singer expressed.
Based on the report, Erik admitted that he has anxiety and a lot of negative emotions are crossing him from time to time due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country and the showbiz industry.
He is about to get back to work in It’s Showtime Tawag ng Tanghalan and it helps ease his worries. He is also a regular performer in ASAP.
The singer admitted that there are times when he is already questioning on when the pandemic will end. On the other side, the time he spent at home made him know his family members more. According to him, he is drawing his optimism from his mother who remains positive in life.
