DOH Update: Total COVID-19 Cases In PH Already At 301,256

Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 301,256, according to DOH.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 301,256 with over 2,700 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, September 26, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #196 dated September 26, 2020, the Department of Health reported 2,747 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 2,471 out of 2,747 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 301,256.

Since September 11, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories. However, the Department of Health on Saturday reported that three operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 63,066 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #196 dated September 26, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 26 only: Metro Manila with 1,115 new cases, Negros Occidental with 196 new cases, Cavite with 153 new cases, Laguna with 112 new cases, and Cebu with 107 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 787 newly-reported recoveries and 88 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 232,906 and coronavirus deaths to 5,284.
