DOH Logs 3,375 Newly-Reported COVID-19 Cases In PH

The DOH had recorded 3,375 newly-reported COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.

The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 3,375 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of September 17, 2020.

This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #187 dated September 17, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,375 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, wherein 2,519 out of 3,375 were recorded as “fresh” cases — reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days.

This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 276,289.

Since Friday, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories.

However, the Department of Health on Thursday reported that 10 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS.

The Department of Health also reported 63,408 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #187 dated September 17, 2020.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 17 only: Metro Manila with 963 new cases, Bulacan with 448 new cases, Cavite with 274 new cases, Negros Occidental with 153 new cases, and Batangas with 119 new cases.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 317 newly-reported recoveries and 53 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 208,096 and total coronavirus deaths to 4,785.
