On Friday, September 4, Angelica Panganiban took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein she expressed her opinion to MTRCB’s plan.

Aside from the MTRCB’s interference in streaming sites, Angelica also recalled the denial of the ABS-CBN franchise last July 10, 2020.

According to Angelica, these events are killing the entertainment industry.

The Kapamilya actress even compared the Philippines to North Korea, which is under a totalitarian government or dictatorship.

Angelica said in her tweet: “Grabe na din. Pati streaming gusto na pakelaman. Papatayin niyo na talaga ang industriya. Inuna niyo ang free tv. Bukas pag gising natin, north korea na to.”

In Angelica’s next tweet, she asked the government why it was “takot na takot sa media at entertainment.”

The 33-year-old actress said, “Bakit ba takot na takot kayo sa media at entertainment? Una press freedom… ngayon pati kalayaan namin gumawa at mag kwento, totoo man o pagpapanggap, gusto niyong kontrolin.”

Angelica Panganiban then went to ask if they are affected by the videos being streamed on platforms like Netflix.

According to PEP.ph, many personalities have also reacted to MTRCB’s plan to regulate content appearing on Netflix and other streaming platforms.

Among those who posted their thoughts on Twitter were actress-TV host Ria Atayde, social media personality Macoy Dubs (Mark Averilla), and singer-activist Leah Navarro, and hitmaker Jose Mari Chan- who also expressed his views about the shutdown of ABS-CBN.
