The photo of a private school teacher who was forced to sell bread and other food after losing her job due to the COVID-19 pandemic is now viral on social media.
Uploader Karlo Ternora was refueling on Holy Spirit Drive, Quezon City when Eloisa Gicar, 65, approached her and offered her goods.
“Biglang lumapit sa’kin si Ma’am. She even called me “anak” baka gusto mo bumili ng paninda ko. As I heard the word anak, naalala ko bigla mga guro ko, mga pangalawang nanay natin sa eskwelahan,” he said.
Gicar told Ternora that the school where she taught was closed due to the pandemic.
“Biglang abot ng sukli si Kuya gasoline boy. ‘Di man lang umabot ng hundreds pera ko na naiabot. She even insisted to get some of her goodies niya. Kaso I resist dahil galing akong kainan,” said Ternora.
Meanwhile, according to Inquirer, for those who want to send help, contact Eloisa Gicar (09324703984) or Rachel Gicar (09322617952).
