Broadcast journalist Erwin Tulfo took to the social networking site, Facebook wherein he called out the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force safety marshalls for allegedly violating the ‘No Angkas’ protocol.
The ‘No Angkas’ protocol has been implemented after Metro Manila was placed anew in Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).
Under the MECQ guidelines, back-riding on a motorcycle is prohibited and the photo shared by Erwin Tulfo apparently shows that the safety marshalls have violated the protocol.
However, the IATF is yet to issue any statement to make a clarification about the photo that has surfaced online, generating mixed reactions from the netizens.
Here’s the caption on Erwin Tulfo’s post:
It was on August 4 when the National Capital Region (NCR) and other nearby areas were placed under MECQ.
This was after the petition of the medical group who initially asked for shifting of NCR’s quarantine status from General Community Quarantine (GCQ) to ECQ in order for them to be given two weeks to re-strategize plans against COVID-19 pandemic.
