The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines already reached 147,526 with over 4,000 new cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, August 13, 2020.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #152 dated August 13, 2020, the Department of Health reported 4,002 new COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 147,526.
In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Thursday were reported based on the total tests done by 93 out of 100 current operational laboratories. Moreover, 3,304 out of 4,002 newly-reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days – from July 31 to August 13.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health reported 1,403 new recoveries and 23 additional fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 70,387 and total coronavirus deaths to 2,426.
In addition, the Department of Health reported 74,713 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #152 dated August 13, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of August 13 only: Metro Manila with 2,445 new cases, Laguna with 319 new cases, Cebu with 212 new cases, Rizal with 142 new cases, and Cavite with 101 new cases.
