Bernadette Sembrano One of ABS-CBN Reporters Who Lost Job
BERNADETTE SEMBRANO – The Kapamilya news anchor revealed that she lost her job as a field reporter of ABS-CBN.
A lot of people lost their job following the denial of the franchise bid of the ABS-CBN. The Kapamilya network vied for a fresh 25-year franchise.
However, last July 10, the voting of the House Franchise Committee did not favor the side of the network. 70 lawmakers voted to deny it of a new franchise while only 11 were on the side favoring the network.
Following the denial of its franchise bid, the ABS-CBN Network released a statement confirming its employee retrenchment. Many people are after those individuals who will be losing their job amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, Bernadette Sembrano who is undeniably one of the most popular Kapamilya reporters revealed that she lost her job as a field reporter. She is the field reporter for “Lingkod Kapamilya”.
On the brighter side, she remains as the co-anchor for TV Patrol and she also received a good news on the same day she was informed of her retrenchment as a field reporter.
In a video posted on Facebook, Bernadette Sembrano said that they are already awaiting their membership for FILSCAP. It is an organization of Filipino composers and songwriters. She is now a songwriter.
Bernadette stressed her retrenchment is also painful but it was expected. She also shared that it is not the first that happened when a good news came in the morning and it was followed by a “not so good news”.
The Kapamilya news anchor remains grateful. She is holding on to the positive side.
“Ang sabi ko, ‘Galing talaga ni God magbalanse ng buhay’. Well ang una kong naisip was dapat talaga sa buhay sakto lang para alam mo kung kanino pa rin nanggagaling ang totoong kaligayahan. Huwag sosobra kasi kapag sumobra, baka makalimot ka na,” she said in the video.
